This blog is my way of updating my friends and family with my practicum and research project progress. Also! I am hoping that this will enable my friends and family to help a "starving student" and support my efforts by donating money to my project. ***PROJECT START DATE: JUNE 17, 2008***

This is, I suppose, beside the point. I was wondering your opinion on the legalization argument?
I agree with the traditional feminist position. Prostitution, and for that matter, any of the assundry sex occupations ultimately cause damage to women. I think this is true legal or not.
You've chosen a "rough row to hoe"
in the subject matter. Is it your intention to in some way lobby the government?
Great question, Mark.
At this point, it is my intention to assist in the rehabilitation of women who have been trafficked for sex.
As far as long term goals, I plan on working with victims of trafficking AND working with policy and social interventions that will prevent new victims of trafficking. So yes, lobbying the governments to not legalize prostitution, punish the MEN using prostitutes (not the prostitutes- they are victimized already), create harsher penalties for trafficking, and greater safety and support for women in society. May not happen in my lifetime but I have to start the work.
